Dear students,
Last week (2nd week of April, '14) during teaching "Social Stratification" one student from 2nd semester raised question that can we say that Narendra Modi is sole responsible to Gujarat Genocide?
I replied that for me he is not sole responsible rather central government was equally responsible for this. Because this is central government's responsibility that if law and order failed in state/s than center must intervene in administration. Even center can take all administrative in their own hand.
Hence we can say that then Prime Minister Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Home Minister Mr. L. K. Advani and others were more responsible than Mr. Narendra Modi.
Central Government failed to control riots.
Same PM Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee wanted to enforce presidential rule in Bihar after killing of nine people in 1999, when Ms. Rabadi Devi was Chief Minister. Than question arise, why this same PM Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Home Minister Mr. L. K. Advani did not do anything in Gujarat.
Hence for me both state and central government were responsible for unable to stop violence.
Central government should do proper investigation to see the role of RSS, VHP and other extremist Hindu outfit to plan and execute this violence and genocide.
