Dear students
The main purpose of this HomeWork is to make you aware of the latest development in the field of academics and society, related to your current course. Some of this HomeWork may not directly be related to your current course rather design to develop critical thinking, and the ability to link different perspectives together. The HomeWork is designed to solve irrespective of your domain specialisation.
The HomeWork is designed to develop the High Order Thinking Skills, this is also popularly known as HOTS.
The ultimate goal of any kinds of education is to serve the society, development of critical thinking, development and promotion of innovation, development of the ability to co-relate the different dimensions and perspectives together; however, these dimensions and perspectives may or may not directly related to each other.
This is possible that HomeWorks may not look like related to your current course work, but these kinds of exercises are necessary to encourage and develop the new kinds of thinking, by relating and analysing the different perspective of realities, facts, thoughts and domain knowledge.
What does HOTS stand for? What is High Order Thinking Skills?
HOTS is standing for High Order Thinking Skills. This concept is developed and designed by Benjamin Bloom. Therefore this is also known as Bloom's theory. High Order Thinking Skills is based on various taxonomies of learning. High Order Thinking Skills reflected by the top three levels in Benjamin Bloom's Taxonomy: Analysis, Synthesis, and Evaluation.
Benjamin Bloom discuss these theories in his book "Taxonomy of Educational Objectives: The Classification of Educational Goals", 1956
