Why certain politicians are corrupts in the eyes of media and popular assumption? What is corruption?

During my class lecture (first or second week of March, 2014, in second semester), I took some name of political leaders. In between one student has made some comment on Mr. Lalu Prasad Yadav. Suddenly I asked why you are saying so. S/he replied that “all times he is doing like that”. Then I asked about different leaders, and students had opinion that, that Mr. Lalu, Mr. Mulayam, Ms. Maya, Mr. Shibu all are known for corruption.

I did not surprise by students reply because they were only reflecting what they have learned from media!

Hence I thought that I should write this on my blog for students.

Corruption is very fashionable issue now. But the question arise, is corruption a new issue? Mr. (Prof?) Ashish Nandi is saying that OBC and SC is more corrupt and ST is coming in this way. Ex Justice Supreme Court Markandey Katju is saying that 90% of Indian is idiot. He had also said that some section of politician is winning the election because of his /her caste vote. Categorically he said that Phulan Devi won her election because of her caste vote.

Now here aring one very fundamental question, if corruption is present phenomenon than what about past? And if there was no corruption than at all or even less corruption than can we say that all problem in this country came suddenly? On the other hand leaders from particular section of society is only targeted for the corruption, is they only corrupted?

As far as concern Ex Justice of Supreme Court Markandey Katju, on which basis he said that leaders from particular section is winning election because of his/her caste vote? How he can say that Ms. Phulan Devi won her election because of her caste vote?

On which basis Mr. (Prof.?) Ashish Nandi can say that OBCs & SCs are corrupt and now STs are too being corrupt?

This is all about prejudice and social discrimination of upper strata of society towards downtrodden societies.

This is the only reason that people used to say that Mulayam Singh Yadav, Lalu Prasad Yadav, Nitish Kumar or Mayawati, Shibu Shoran and other are corrupt and all leaders from other section is honest.

Where the fact that these leaders are responsible for bring the real democracy and social justice in society.

Dear Students, I will write more precisely in future.
